    Noon– 1:00 p.m.: PRESENTATION

How can an HR professional recognize when an employee may have a problem with alcohol or drugs?  What should an HR professional do – and what must he or she avoid doing – in such situations?  What steps should be taken to protect the company and coworkers, and what help can be offered if an employee is ready to address a substance-abuse issue?  During this session, Kari and Lisa will provide answers to these questions and guide HR professionals on how to handle these challenging situations.

During this session, Kari & Lisa would like HR professionals to have a better understanding of what to look for when an "alcoholic" comes to work, some tell-take signs and how to give them resources for help when ther're ready.  Certain things not to say and how not to becaome an enabler.
