Certification Study Group Information

    To register for a Certification Scholarship provided by GVHRA, please complete the Certification Scholarship Application Form.

    Spring will be upon us soon and there is no better time than now to pursue your professional HR certification.  GVHRA looks forward to supporting you in your successful pursuit of your SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR by sponsoring a free Certification Study Group.  If you are interested in participating, please email Brenda Haakenson (GVHRA Certification Chair) at  Below you can find all of the information to help you determine which certification is right for you.

    2019 Winter Exam Window:  December 1, 2019 - February 15, 2020 (Regular Application Deadline is October 18th.  Late Application Deadline is November 9th.)

    There have been many changes in the past few years and GVHRA seeks to host certification self guided study groups for professionals seeking their SHRM HR Certification, provided there are enough individuals interested in becoming certified.  If you are interested in participating, please email, answering the following questions:

    Information Regarding the two different certifications and eligibility requirements:

    1)      Which exam would you prefer to prepare for? (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)

    2)      Would you prefer to meet weekly for 12 weeks, or attend a condensed 1.5 day preparation session (on a Friday/Saturday)?

    3)      If meeting weekly, which weeknight is best?

    Brenda will get back to you and let you know if there are other individuals who are interested in a study group.
