    Benefit Engagement

Employee benefit programs are a significant component of an employee’s overall compensation, but do employees really understand and value their benefits?  Do employees see the benefits provided to them as a safety nets for their physical and financial health?  Both employers and employees have skin in the benefit game – due to PPACA, increased premiums, or cost shifts to employees – and this requires that all parties better understand and value the non-payroll portions of employee compensation.  The stakes have never been higher for employers to educate employees about  benefits, so that employees are engaged, empowered,  and understand their company’s significant investment in them.

In this presentation, we’ll look at the industry changes creating the need for better benefit communication, as well as new (and old) strategies for educating employees on benefits.  We’ll also discuss the link between recruitment/retention programs and benefit education programs.  As employers seek a positive benefits ROI, the difference between those that achieve it and those that don’t will be those who do a better job engaging employees.
