During this session we’ll talk about common myths associated with pre-employment assessments and how they are sabotaging organizations that support them. Theses myths include: 1.They aren’t legal and we’ll get sued; 2.They are “hocus pocus”; 3.They take too much time; 4.They don’t work; 5.They cost too much. Scientific data and case study results from leading organizations will be shared relative to these myths in an attempt to debunk the notion and reinforce that, if used correctly; pre-employment assessments add quality to the talent acquisition process, while increasing efficiency and effectiveness. The goal will be to walk through each myth and highlight pivotal court cases, scientific evidence, and case studies to falsify each myth. In addition, we’ll talk about typical obstacles that organizations face in implementing an effective pre-employment assessment process, and some strategies for overcoming them. Each obstacle will be articulated in a way that it can be tied to real-world situations and practical ways to overcome them. Finally, the overarching goals will be to ensure that organizations a)identify with and understand why pre-employment assessments can increase organization effectiveness b) how to find resources or applied solutions to overcome obstacles to implementation and c) how to get started with pre-employment assessment by identifying with the goals specific to an organization and how to proceed accordingly.
