Cathy Hasenpflug, Director of HR Operations of MSU will present The Little Process That Could: building strategic value into everyday tasks.  HR functions are challenged to deliver on day -to-day operational tasks that often seem far from the center of an organization’s core mission. Yet transactional HR processes present a significant opportunity to support, reinforce and communicate organizational culture and strategy. Re -energize your HR function by turning a critical and opportunistic eye toward those HR processes which to uch multiple stakeholders and impact the employee experience. Cathy Hasenpflug, Director of HR Operations at MSU, will share an
example of a current process improvement initiative around employee onboarding/orientation. Learn how a
re-visioning of this process through the “lens of the employee” led to a collaborative effort across the MSU
HR community to pilot a new program - to “jumpstart” a positive and productive employee experience
during the first week of work. Through this example, we will discuss a set of steps to assess and redesign
HR operational processes to support and reinforce organizational strategies, values and initiatives.
Participants will discuss opportunities within their own organizations.
